Welcome to Shelford Medical Practice

We are an NHS general practice in Great Shelford.

Serving You

Our team are here to treat minor ailments as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. You can do a lot of things from your home, such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Named Accountable GP

All GP practices are now required to allocate a GP to each patient. That GP takes responsibility for the coordination of services for that patient. This does not mean that that GP is the only clinician who can provide care for that patient. Patients can see any GP that they wish, provided that the GP has available appointments.

Shelford Medical Practice has registered patients with the Practice, not with an individual GP, and so the official registered GP may be any one of our doctors. If you wish to know your Registered Doctor just ask one of our staff, clinicians, receptionists and administrative staff are all able to provide you with this information.

We are accredited as a University Teaching Practice by Cambridge University and as a Post Graduate Training Practice by the East of England Multi Professional Deanery.  As such, we may sometimes host medical students at the practice.

Would you recommend us to your friends and family?

Shelford Medical Practice wants you to have the best possible experience of care. The NHS Friends and Family Test is one way of gathering your feedback so we can continually review our service.

It is based on one simple question:
“How likely are you to recommend our service to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment”

Your feedback will help us learn more about what you think of your experience – what you like and what you think we could improve. Ultimately you’re helping us to make changes that will ensure we can offer the best possible care.
